Group 1 (slo mo team)

Follow the instructional video:

Group 2

  1. Plug the camera into the laptop using a firewire cable
  2. Open Final Cut
  3. Click file> log and capture (fig 1)
  4. Place your clips on the time line on top of each other on separate video layers (fig 2)
  5. Line up your clips so that they are all synchronised (the music starts and ends at exactly the same time time)
  6. use the < and > keys to adjust each clip one frame at a time for fine adjustments
  7. Start cutting parts of your video layers you don't want out using the blade tool without moving any of the layers, moving layers will ruin the sync (fig 3 &4)

Camera Skills

I am currently working on a new camera skills blog to help you with camera, lighting and grip equipment.

The first parts are now available to view including an in depth look at using a Sony Z5.

Click here to have a look.

Where has my timeline gone?

This happens to everyone sooner or later; You accidently close your time line window and can't work out how to re-open it. This is what it will look like.

In the end you have probably decided to quit final cut and reopen it.

Instead just double click on the sequence in the browser window that you were editing.
